Hello, and welcome to my site. My name is Debra Eaves and I have an insatiable love for stitchery. Just about any kind. I cannot remember a time in which I was not doing some type of stitching. This wonderful journey all started with my mother buying stitchery kits to keep me still and quiet so that she could have some sort of quiet time to herself (we have all been there at one time or another). I was so intrigued at learning new stitches with each new kit. There was something grand about seeing a print on a piece of cloth come to life with all kinds of colorful texture being sewn in.
Stitching has since then taken me to new interest like learning to needle punch, make dolls, applique on almost everything that a needle can puncture, quilting and making jewelry. The only stitching I could never really grow to like very much is making clothes because it drives me up a wall to tailor to fit. However, I did make my children’s clothes when they were small.
Through my journey learning all the different types of stitching one thing that always stands out is, I love the texture. I love to take laces, cloth, beads, paints, ribbons, threads etc. and form something lovely that has lots of texture and depth. It has been my dream for some time to be able to teach how to make lovely things whether it’s for a wall or to wear or to give as a gift that has lots of texture and beauty. It is my hope to see someone else experience the love I have for stitchery.
I am married to a wonderfully supportive man, and I have two lovely children, a boy, and a girl. I work full time at the moment as a cat scan tech at an oncology company. I hope to retire someday teaching the thing that keeps me sane everyday; my texture turned into beauty.
