Wool Applique Hanger with Pitcher and Daisies
Wool Applique Hanger with Pitcher and Yellow Daisies
I’m always looking for the whimsical item I can use with my flowers. This pitcher is one of those metal galvanized pitchers you use to see in the old days. To make it look like the metal, I chose gray wool for the pitcher. I really liked this fabric because it had a beautiful print that was created by the different shades of grays in it, it gives interest to the flower pot.
To make the gray standout I used a dark fabric for the background. So when I look at the applique picture, the flower arrangement is what catches your eye.
I wanted a light color of a flower. White daisies would have been too much of a contrast between the flower and the background. This yellow color blends well with the color tones of the hanger. I found a great wool fabric for the flower centers. It has black dots on top of gold making it look like a real flower center. I can see bees buzzing around that center picking up fuzzy pollen on their legs.
I used a crochet lace for the hanger and the trim at the bottom. I think the crochet adds to the olden day’s look that I’m going for.
